
Brazilian Jiu-Jitu (BJJ)
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the basis of all we do at OCSA! Our
classes are used to teach techniques for sport grappling tournaments,
MMA, & self defense. Every class consists of a warm-up, drilling
techniques, and sparring. Sparring (commonly referred to as 'rolling') and “live drilling” play a major role in how our classes are run. All Students are required to wear a Gi (Uniform) during the class, which can be purchased at the school.
Submission Grappling (No-Gi)
Our
submission grappling (also known simply as No-Gi) classes are a mixture
of techniques from Freestyle Wrestling, BJJ, Judo and Sombo. Every class
consists of a warm-up, drilling techniques, and sparring. Sparring
(commonly referred to as 'rolling') and “live drilling” play a major
role in how our classes are run.
Muay Thai
Our Muay Thai classes are taught by Kru Tony Mosley. The class incorporates the use of hands, elbows, knees, and kicks...along with various clinching techniques. All students will need to provide their own gloves, shin guards, and hand wraps. These can all be purchased at the school.
MMA Classes
The MMA program at OCSA is without question the “most complete” you will find in Central Ohio! First, these classes are open to students of ALL LEVELS! Our fighters don’t just “train MMA”, they learn all the skills it takes to become a complete MMA fighter. These classes are open to ALL Students, but you are also “Strongly Encouraged” to attend other classes if you plan on competing in MMA.
Open Training
These class times are set aside so that our students can get some ‘extra’ training. Be it grappling on the mats, using the strength training equipment, or hitting the bags…this is when you can put in the extra work to take you to the next level!
Combat Fitness
Combat Fitness is our newest Co-Ed program! On Monday's we have our Boxing/Kickboxing class (note, this is not a "cardio class", we really teach you how to box/Kickboxing). On Wednesday’s we have a functional strength & circuit training class, which incorporate kettle bells, medicine balls, and other core strength training (much like what our other combat athletes use to prepare for competition). Due to our ability to scale these work-outs, all fitness levels fit right in to this class. Within weeks you will notice a change in your appearance, a boost in your confidence, and your fitness level will be at an all time high!
